| Carol Pearson--As Junior Chairman for our Society my job is getting lighter as we lose membership every single year. Many of our kids are reaching college- age, young- married- age, moving- away- from- home- age, and it is difficult to keep up with them. I try to keep track and send each one a birthday card, and when mail is returned to me, I call on the sponsor (usually a grandmother) for the new mailing information, which is often outdated by the following year. If you have sponsored a Junior, and there has been a change in address or name, please take a few minutes to contact me as I would very much appreciate knowing. I contact sponsors (when available) when a Junior becomes 25 years old. A word of encouragement from sponsors/family to go into Regular Membership is the only thing that counts! In 2009 we will bid farewell as Juniors to the following 25 year olds: Scott Arthur Montgomery, Joshua Miller, April Jessica Bevington, Michelle Theresa Hodapp Dubois, and Susan Elizabeth Menz That will leave us with 41 Juniors for 2010. Junior membership makes a great gift. For a $10 one time fee, I mail a certificate of membership , a one page biography of their ancestor(s) on the Mayflower, and a little information about the Compact and First Thanksgiving. Please contact me for applications! Studying the family genealogy was one of her many passions and she is especially proud to have traced the family line back to four Mayflower passengers, including John Alden. Virginia now lives at Rosemont Assisted Living in Santa Fe. Happy Birthday, Virginia! |
